December 12, 2018: ODF is pleased to support the sale of the book Alice the Endearing Deaf Dog by Donna Fano

Alice

This is the first book to cover the history of Alice, who was a deaf dog given in 1972 by Farley and Claire Mowat to the Ontario School for the Deaf (now the Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf) located in Belleville, Ontario. She lived with the students in the residences and understood sign language. She was an amazing pet to all the students for seven years, until her accidental death in 1979. Alice’s legacy continues with this collection of stories, photos, and letters, including those sent by the Mowats.

Price: $14.00

To order the book:

Mail a cheque or postal order for $19.00 (including a mailing charge of $5.00) to Donna Fano at 75 Monteagle Boulevard, Belleville, Ontario K8P 5G4.

Email money transfer is also available. Contact osdsjwarchives@gmail.com. Please provide your postal address in your message.

For each book sold, four dollars will be donated to Ontario Deaf Foundation.
